Kwaidan is a 1964 Japanese portmanteau film directed by Masaki Kobayashi; the title means “ghost story”. It is based on stories from Lafcadio Hearn’s collections of Japanese folk tales. The film consists of four separate and unrelated stories. It won the Special Jury Prize at the 1965 Cannes Film Festival and an Academy Award nomination.

Hamilton Quilt Circle Meets Every Wednesday!

The Hamilton Quilt Circle meets every Wednesday at the
Hamilton Gallery from 6:30PM-9PM. If you just want to
hang out and learn to quilt and meet some nice people,
come on down! No matter what you skill level, age,
gender, or shoe size you are welcome to participate.
If you are able to thread a needle and make a stitch,
you meet the requirements. The Hamilton Quilt Circle
is currently working on quilts that will be raffled off
in December as fundraisers to benefit the Hamilton
Gallery and Hamilton-Lauraville Main Street.

Learn basic embroidery, applique & beading techniques to make your clothes fabulous!

P'zzazz your clothes! Join Jude Asher for a 3 week quick course in embellishing clothing. Learn basic embroidery, applique & beading techniques to make your clothes fabulous. Students will need to supply an item of clothing, ( or tote bag, hat, whatever), supplies such as needles, thread, pins, beads and some fabric will be supplied. There will be a continuing fabric swap during the workshop.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be invited to display their results in the December Gallery show. Classes begin Sun 10/24 and continue over the next 2 Sundays (10/24, 10/31, and 11/7), from 2:30-4:00 pm. Cost is $30 per person for the session. all skill levels welcome. First Friday at the Gallery a Smashing Success!

Thanks to all who came out. We raised money for the Gallery, had a large crowd, and it appears that a good time was had by all! The work of our guest artist, Nan Thompson (www.nansalchemy.com) and our featured artist, Brandy Baker, will be on display throughout the month October as well as the works of our member artists.
